Wow, this year has really been a doozie. We weren’t even a full week of days in when we got the shocking and unexpectedly tragic news that legendary lyricist and drummer Neil Peart of the incomparable rock band RUSH had passed from this life to the next. Shortly after, the Covid pandemic and scare hit us harder than anything I can remember in my lifetime. During that time I celebrated both my 20th wedding anniversary and my 50th birthday. Both joyous occasions tempered by the reality that 2020 has gut punched us all with. But even now with just 3 months left to go in this fateful year, I’m enthusiastic.
I’ve taken on a challenge like no other in my lifetime in this run to be your representative for Texas’ 12th District and I’ve done everything with total transparency and integrity. I’m acutely aware that this might not be a winning strategy when the votes are counted in just about a month’s time, but I’m content with that reality because even if I lose the race, I’ll still have intact the things that are more important to me.
I do believe there are opportunities for America this November that are unprecedented. With the complete farce of a first presidential debate between the duopoly’s candidates, the interest in Dr. Jo Jorgensen has gone through the roof and people are hungry for a true and genuine change in American politics. Only two things can happen to affect this hunger in November. Either they take that hunger to the polls and cast their fears aside in favor of liberty, or they don’t and that hunger goes unsatisfied until the next opportunity for liberty to rise. But either way, Liberty IS rising. There will be no stopping her. In the words of my political mentor, Dr. Ron Paul, “An idea whose time has come cannot be stopped by any army or any government.”
So I encourage you to cast your fears aside and vote for liberty when you vote in a few days or weeks. Let your voice be heard! Let your freak flag fly! Throw caution to the wind and do something different perhaps than you’ve ever done in your life.
YOLO? No. You don’t only live once. You only die once. You get to live every day.
Get busy living.
“We are young, wandering the face of the earth.
Wondering what our dreams might be worth.
Learning that we’re only immortal for a limited time.”
Neil Peart, Rest in rock and roll Peace.
